"You Got To Do Something"
This is the philosophy Tal Brody has based his entire life on. As living proof of his "talking isn't enough" theory, Tal continues to do for his community, his country,
and anyone he comes into contact with.
Let's Play Ball Program
By coaching and giving Basketball Clinics in schools, kibbutzim, development towns, and the army, Tal managed to reach over 200,000 youngsters with his "Let's Play Ball" program upon retiring from professional Basketball. The program touched the lives of thousands of Israeli children between the ages of five and eighteen. Children who were drawn to the sport that had every Israeli household glued to the TV set on Thursday nights watching Maccabi Tel-Aviv win one championship after another. These pictures of extremely happy children having the time of their lives say it all.
The Basketball School
In 1985, Tal started building one of the largest basketball schools in the world with the help of the Municipality of Herzlia and its Mayor, Eli Landau. He designed a special Basketball program that fourteen schools would participate in, hand-picked and trained all the coaches and personnel and devoted much of his time to the running of the school on a daily basis. After three years Tal handed over the responsibility of running the program to The Municipality of Herzlia, and stayed on as President.
